Hobbies: I look to read, write, and laugh as much as is humanly possible. Sleeping and eating closely follow in importance.

I look over almost every story at least three times before it is published. Those stories that fall outside of “almost every,” I look over twice. I, along with my fellow chief editor, Alison Myoraku, oversee story flow and project assignments. Also, as a vicious linguistics fiend, I scrutinize and copyedit stories before their publication. I write the odd (and sometimes commonplace) news story, and I dabble in the satirical arts every now and then. This year, as a chief editor, I do not fall into a specific story-writing category, such as News, Investigative, Sports, etc. However, last year, I was part of the News, Breaking News, Investigative, and Satire teams.

Hobbies: I enjoy listening to music, spending time with friends, reading magical realism (especially Marquez),watching movies, and following professional football.

As co-editor-in-chief, a majority of my time is spent creating new operational systems that accommodate our growing staff.  I check in regularly with the copy editors to ensure they are on task and diligently editing articles. When I have the chance, I like to write about the anti-human-trafficking movement, especially local efforts to alleviate the issue of modern day slavery.  I am also interested in topics related to education, because these issues generally have direct impacts on students.

I design the website appearance with the assistance of my fellow editors and write the code for said appearance. If our editorial focus shifts, I ensure that the website design highlights that focus through modifications to the appearance and custom story and category layouts. I was also part of the development team for our iPad app, writing the code for interface between the app and our content database. I occasionally write articles, usually of a humorous nature.

Hobbies: Writing, Sleeping, Reading, Traveling, & Ranting about PETA’s latest endeavor

Being the Opinion Editor challenges me to explore many different current events, be knowledgeable and open minded to both sides of an issue, and work to improve my writing skills. As a person of strong conviction, I work hard to deliver thought-out and well developed pieces that reflect my beliefs. As I continue to produce more pieces, my love for the subject grows. I enjoy the utter freedom that opinion writing has and my ability to creatively target each piece in a different style. As a bonus – it’s always fun to be able to instantly publicize my thoughts towards anything that I feel is worth discussing.

Hobbies: Calling cues as stage manager, and wearing down drum sticks in jam sessions, and using up bottles of glue on collages. In journalism I enjoy the challenge of succinctly reporting on intricate  controversies.

I am head of and am designing comics for the site.  I also am an expert on the California Education Code, specializing on stories in that area. I write in depth inter-district stories. My goal is to launch and run an aesthetic, interactive, and  intriguing  comics page for the website
