The PAC hosted the first Menlo-Atherton Student Film Festival in eight years, made possible by Mr. Giambruno and his video production classes.

The video production classes, taught by John Giambruno, hosted a wonderful student-produced film festival on Tuesday, May 3rd in the PAC theater. The films ranged from dramas to comedies, and were no longer than about 11 minutes.

Students were the stars, the extras, the directors and producers. This creative M-A event was an excellent way to have the students in Giambruno’s video production classes learn to work together, and showcase their final productions.

Mr. Giambruno commented, “I was very pleased. They did a lot of work. I am very happy with the turnout and the students.”

Students enjoyed seeing their friends star in some of these movies, and the audience was always very supportive, even when waiting for the next film to start. Parents were pleased with the hard work their students had put into their passion for the art of film.

“I thought it was fun,” says Gail Badduke, mother of Brittney Badduke, director of “Catz and Drugz, Meowvie,” one of the evening’s films.

“Meowvie was awesome. Cat drugs are funny,” recaps sophomore Maddie Napel.

Thanks again to the M-A PTA, and the Foundation for the Future for the support needed to get this event off the ground, and great job to all of the M-A students that worked on this production. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
