Eagles Cut Veteran Desean Jackson

Last week,  the Eagles parted ways with wide receiver Desean Jackson. The move has been rumored for months, and has finally become a reality. Jackson is going to have many suitors, but it is ludicrous to give him the 10 million dollars a year he is requesting. I can’t see any contenders such as New England, Seattle, or San Francisco paying him that kind of money.  I do, however, predict teams such as Oakland and the Jets signing him to help their young quarterbacks mature. He has been in the league for a while now, and will be a good, consistent target for rookie quarterbacks to throw to.

The best fit from Desean Jackson’s point of view is the New England Patriots, where he would be an instant #1 target for Tom Brady, arguably one of the best quarterbacks of all time, let alone currently playing.  The Patriots will have to cut some serious checks to get him. I find this to be a little unlikely, but ultimately its a possibility. Regardless of where he ends up, the entire sports world will be eagerly awaiting his decision.
