Every girl’s fantasy is to be dragged up on stage by a dreamy rock star, and sing a hit song to the roar of the crowd.  Well just this happened to M-A’s own Stephanie Johnson.

On August 19, M-A Junior, Stephanie Johnson was pulled up on tage by Green Day’s world-renowned lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong and belted out hit song “Are We the Waiting.”  Stephanie Johnson and fellow M-A student Nicole Barnes waited aboust eight hours outside the HP pavilion so they could get the best possible seats.  And boy did that pay off.

After working their way to right in front of the stage Stephanie noticed that “He was looking at me and gestured for me to come up on stage.  I was so stunned I had to point at myself to make sure he was talking to me,” smiled Stephanie as she recounted the experience.  “The security guard practically threw me onto the stage, and I got up there and put my arm around him (Billy Joe Armstrong).  And it was just amazing!”

To the awe and jealousy of the crowd, Stephanie performed wonderfully and amazed everyone in the seats. This was definitely an experience of a lifetime, which Stephanie will surely never forget.  In remembrance of the experience, Stephanie blurted out “It was the best day of my life, at least so far” with a grin spreading ear to ear.  The odds of being selected out of the thousands of hopefuls to go up on stage at a concert are surely miniscule, so this experience just might be destiny for young Stephanie Johnson.

Just a dream for most, Stephanie had the audacity and courage to get up on stage in front of thousands of spectators and perform with one of the most popular rock bands of the era.  If this isn’t a sign for a future rock star, then I don’t know what is.
