Two weeks ago, M-A’s robotics team, Team 766, participated in the Sacramento Regionals. The game was aerial assist, a game similar to soccer, but played with exercise balls and multiple goals.
This year the team made both a practice robot and a competition robot. While work on the competition robot is restricted after the end of build season, the team was allowed to continue working on the practice robot after the build season ended.

During the first two days of the competition, the team applied changes they had made on the practice robot, to the competition robot to enhance its performance during matches.
According to senior Nicky Ivy, the modifications payed off, and on Saturday “one of the top teams saw our ability to be useful in inbounding [(bringing in the ball for the first assist points)] the ball” and they picked Team 766 to join their alliance for the elimination rounds.

Team 766, The Citrus Circuits, and Spartan Robotics, ended up as the winning alliance, giving them spots in the National competition.
