Students gathered to enjoy the performances from Young Finesse and Mash-it-Up in honor of the launch of The MArk, M-A’s new magazine, today on the new patio by the PAC.  The day was a triumph, featuring an impromptu dance-off and an art contest complete with candy prizes.

Miari Scott, an M-A student, described how she loved how everyone started dancing.

“It was real fun,” she says, “and it was a good break from school.  It was fun to go play around with my friends.”

M-A English teacher Mr. Losekoot was also in attendance at The MArk Day.

“I was impressed by the students,” he says, “They were really very creative and talented and I had fun being out there.  I feel beautiful in my [] tattoo…The blue brings out my eyes.”

The purpose of today’s event was to raise hype and excitement about the new magazine, The MArk, with the slogan, “Make Yours”  encouraging artists to get out and be seen. John McBlair, Betsy Snow, and Ana Ventura are working to revamp the face of journalism at M-A by combining the former Creative Expressions magazine, the former Bear Naked News and the current mabearnews.com website into a glossy, hard-to-put-down magazine, set to launch in March.
