Free Taco Bell, Courtesy of an Angel

Before the World Series, Taco Bell issued the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants a challenge: if a player on either team could steal a base, the fast food giant would give out free Doritos Locos Tacos to everyone.

Giants’ outfielder Angel Pagan stole a base in Game 2, meaning that Tuesday October 30, from 2-6 PM, everyone who showed up received one free taco.

This caused severe backups at Taco Bells all over the Bay Area. However, the restaurant on El Camino Real in Redwood City received extra attention, and police assistance, as Pagan himself helped hand out tacos.

I had no idea that Pagan showed up to hand out tacos on Tuesday, but it’s clear that plenty of people found out one way or another judging by the line. I’m glad to see Redwood City receive some press for all this.

I’m lovin’ the amount of attention the Giants are getting for winning it all. Pagan undoubtedly was a key piece in their championship season and it’s great to see all of the support the fans are giving both Pagan and the Giants as a whole.
