San Francisco’s Keys to Victory in Super Bowl XLVII

Although the Forty Niners are the favorites going into the Super Bowl, it is still going to be a tough game.  The Ravens have a tremendous amount of momentum, and with Ray Lewis in the last game of his storied career, they are playing for a purpose.

In order for the Niners to pull off their sixth Super Bowl victory, they need to play better than they have throughout the playoffs so far. In both games, San Francisco has gone into halftime behind, and have had to fight back to win in the second half. If they let Baltimore out to a two touchdown lead, the game is as good as over. With Ray Rice, the Ravens will be able to run the game into the history books, and pull off yet another upset.

Offensively, the Niners need to play aggressively from beginning to end.  Kaepernick needs to make some plays happen with his legs, and put San Fran up early.  They have to get some big passing plays in the first half, and let their defense hold off the Ravens.

Defensively, they need to have a stronger secondary than they have had.  Against Green Bay and Atlanta, they let huge passing plays put them down going into halftime.  And the long ball in the Raven’s bread and butter.  They need to shut their passing game down, and force them to beat them on the ground.
