The Ravens have been a Cinderella story this postseason.  With Ray Lewis in his last season ever, they are really playing with a purpose.  As of right now, the Ravens definitely have the momentum going into Super Bowl XLVII.

However, they are outmatched skill wise against the 49ers. They just don’t have the talent to straight up over power San Francisco. Regardless, they still have a good chance if they play it right.

Offensively, the Ravens need to get out to an early lead, then use Ray Rice and their strong running game to waste out the clock.  They must use the long ball to get out to this lead.  Joe Flacco has one of the best arms in the NFL, and has shown his ability to bomb it to the end zone this postseason.  With Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin, this will be very possible. On top of that, San Francisco’s biggest weakness is in their secondary, so that is where Baltimore needs to attack.

Once out to a lead, the Ravens need to rely on their defense to hold off Kaepernick and the Niners. Ray Lewis needs to contain Kap’s running game, and force him to throw the ball.  Then the secondary needs to shut down his favorite targets, Randy Moss and Michael Crabtree.

At the end of the day, the Ravens are going to have to play the perfect game in order to complete their perfect season with a Super Bowl victory.
