No. 2 Paige Keating leads the winning team.

Girls’ tennis is off to another superb year. Returning varsity players Marietta Tuionetoa, Taylor Wentz, Paige Keating, Julia Sommer, and Jordan Fantuzzi have helped put the team’s record at 10-2. Sommer says she is “looking forward to this season because we have a lot of returning players, and think we will carry the girls’ tennis winning tradition.”

The Bears look to qualify for CCS yet again and are hoping to regain the title. Their No.1 and No.2 players are Marrieta Tuionetoa and Paige Keating while Taylor Wentz and Jordan Fantuzzi hold down the number-one doubles spot.

Last Thursday, Oct. 1, the Bears took on Mills High School of Millbrae and won with a convincing 7-0 overall team score. They are currently 8-0 in league and have won an impressive 21 straight league games over the last three years. The team’s only losses have been at the hands of out-of-league rivals Gunn and Menlo. The Lady Bears have high hopes for winning PAL and making a trip to CCS, which seems to be almost a yearly occurrence.
