The Bears enter into the semifinal match of the CCS championships tournament after a 1st round bye and a victory over Leland in the quarterfinals.

The boys’ water polo team got off to a strong start in the Central Coast Section playoffs, earning a first round bye, and then a victory over Leland in the quarterfinals this past Saturday at Sacred Heat Prep. The Bears will now advance to the semifinals to face St. Francis for a spot in the championship match.

The Bears finished off the regular season with a 12-12 win/loss record, seeding them 3rd in CCS behind St. Francis and Bellarmine.

After crushing Leland in the quarterfinal match, 12-4, they earned themselves a spot in the semifinals against the #2 seed, powerhouse St. Francis. The Bears will face the Lancers at 7:00 on Tuesday night at Serra.

If M-A advances to the championship match, they will either face Mountain View, or #1 seed, Bellarmine. The Bears took Bellarmine into overtime in their first match of the regular season, before losing by two goals.
