After winning a SCVAL Championship last year, the M-A boys varsity lacrosse team has their eyes set on another outstanding year.

“Our main goal is to repeat last year, and win another championship,” said sophomore Peyton Uphoff.

However, this will be no easy feat. The Bears are going into the season having lost four seniors from last year’s title-winning team. Regardless, they will not be adding any freshman to the varsity roster, and will have only three sophomores.

With the senior and junior-heavy team, experience will be the key for the Bears to repeat last season’s impressive accomplishment.  Led by senior captains Chase Connell, Nicky Mullen, PJ Titterton, and Drew Uphoff, the team will continue to work hard leading up the their season opener.

With so much talent, the Bears have looked impressive in practice and scrimmages so far.  Head Coach Steven Kryger has done an impressive job with the lacrosse program at M-A, turning the Bears into one of the best lacrosse teams in the Bay Area. With his leadership, the M-A varsity lacrosse team will have another superb season.

The Bears will start their journey towards repeating as SCVAL Champions against California High School on Tuesday, February 19th.
