Sports: M-A Cross Country Gears up for Final Races
Moving well through the first part of the season, the M-A Cross Country team has established a dominant spot in League and CCS alike. As the team trains for their final races of the year, they come ever closer to their lofty pre-season goals.
The M-A girls have come to control their league with ease. Undefeated in PAL races, they sit in first place with just two races until PAL finals. But their season will not stop there, as they also are ranked fourth in CCS. Led by sophomore Madeleine Baier, as well as veteran senior Taylor Fortnam, the Lady Bears look to run over their competition in both League and CCS to get to the California State Championships.
On the boys side, the Bears find themselves in an equally successful position. Ranked third in League, and fourth in CCS, the boys share the same goal as the girls: State. While the girls have found success in many young runners, the boys rely on strong performances from their juniors and seniors, namely Zach Plante and Adam Scandlyn.
With only two weeks until PAL Finals, the Bears are finally seeing their hard pre-season work pay off. This work will only become more rewarding as both the boys and the girls move on to CCS and hopefully State Championships.
