Anna’s Avenue: How to Make a Hair Wrap

Materials Needed: Friendship bracelet string, scissors, small rubber band

1. Select a segment of hair about this size.

2. Tightly braid the segment of hair.

3. Secure braid with a small rubber band.

4. Select multiple colors of string for your wrap (four strings are usually best).

5. Measure the strings equally. The length should be about twice the length of the hair.

6. Tie the strings all together to the top of the braid in a double knot.

7. Select one string to be the first color. Knot it once around the braid and the other strings.

8. Using the same color, wind the string around the braids and the other strings until it covers an inch of the braid.

9. Once you finish with the first color, knot it again around the braid.

10. Select the next color for the wrap, knotting it around the braid once.

11. Again, wind the string around the braid about an inch. Continue this pattern for the remaining length of the hair.

12. Optional: Wind all strands of string around the braid at once.

13. Knot the string at the end of the wrap to secure it in place.

14. Remove the rubber band from the end of the braid.

15. Trim the excess string.

16. Your hair wrap is complete!

Important: Knot the string before and after you start a new color. This will prevent the wrap from sliding.
