The theme red is introduced by this inaugural installation: February Week 1 (see the Spread on the Photos page). The color red carries much more meaning than simply that of the color implied–red describes an intensity, a passion, a vivid and dominant presence that can be found–or more accurately, felt–in a variety of subjects. Red does not define a finite border of what we hope to see in submissions for this month, but instead contains a myriad of powerful moments in life that we hope to capture in the upcoming weeks.

This is an absolutely wonderful picture spread. The color red has a lot of very deep meaning for me, and is very close to my heart so this is really great to see. Thanks so much.

It is fitting that the happiness arrow points to the rose. There is limitless happiness hiding in those curled petals.
