Top Stories: Breaking News: Elderly Driver Strikes Twins
Update as of 7:54 pm: The twins were both first-graders at Oak Knoll Elementary according to Maurice Ghysels, Superintendent of the Menlo Park City School District.
This afternoon six-year-old twins were hit by a car driven by an elderly man in front of Walgreens.
According to KTVU.com, Menlo Park Police Officers answered a call at 2:17 pm about an accident on the 600 block of Santa Cruz Avenue.
When they arrived at the scene they found that a 90-year-old man drove his silver BMW over the curb and rammed the two children against a wall.
The children were moved to Stanford Hospital to recieve medical attention. While one child suffered from non-lifethreatening injuiries, the other was in critical condition.
Due to the accident, the eastbound lane of Santa Cruz was shut down for investigation.
The 90-year-old man in question did not show any signs of drug or alcohol use after preliminary investigation.
