Feature: M-A’s Rising College Freshmen to Pursue a Variety of Majors
After walking around school and asking different seniors what their intended major is going to be in college, it became evident that M-A really does have strength in diversity.
With most people undecided, it is important to acknowledge that most 17- and 18-year-olds do not know what they want to do for the rest of their life. Especially in the Silicon Valley, students are raised with extremely high pressure surrounding them, with friends and family expecting them to become neurosurgeons or lawyers right off the bat.
Meanwhile, other people want to go on to help kids with their education by becoming a teacher, or help animals in need by being a vet. Often, students have no clue who or what they want to be and go into college as undecided.
